Topic 2 Progress Report: 2 November 2007
WELCOA Writing Team – Progress Report – 11/2/07

 

                 At our last team meeting, each member of the team had submitted their first draft of the article on which they'd been working.  I submitted my first draft of the article "Coping with Debt."  We were paired off, by the Team Leader, to jointly review each other's articles.  For the first review and edit process, I was paired with Janell, who has written on "Communication in the Workplace."

 

                 Janell and I met three times to review our articles.  We followed the edit procedures outlined by Pete . . .each of us taking turns reading our article out loud to the other, while the other followed along on a written copy, and stopped to ask questions or make suggestions as it seemed to them would help clarify meaning or otherwise make the information more accessible.

 

                 Once a substantial portion of my article had been reviewed with Janell, I began making edits, based on her input.  I discussed a couple of editing points with Pete, regarding information Janell was a little uncomfortable with, to get his recommendation on how to proceed.  I completed editing content of my first draft on October 30.  On the 31st, I formatted headings and added title and table of contents pages.  With that my second draft is complete.

 

                 On the 31st, I finished updating my project log and drafted this progress report, and submitted this report and the second draft of my article to Pete, via email.
